I used the Seeed Studio XIAO ESP32‑C3 for my four-button Home Assistant remote mostly because it’s tiny and has USB‑C. It worked well overall, but I learned the hard way that the board doesn’t have a built-in Wi‑Fi antenna, so range/latency can be a thing.

- -No built-in Wi-Fi antenna (signal can be worse)
- -Some GPIO choices (like strapping pins) can cause issues if you’re not careful
