HBAs can get pretty toasty, and the HL15—while it has a lot of airflow—doesn’t necessarily force air directly through the HBA heatsink like a traditional server. This little PCIe fan bracket was my quick-and-dirty way to blow air right at the card. It’s a bit janky (and the paint was… not great), but it’s better than cooking an HBA.
