About This Video

In this video I explain why I finally decided to get a cinematic FPV drone for filmmaking. I’ve been shooting with “normal” camera drones like the Mavic Air for a while, and they’re amazing for clean, stable aerials—but FPV is a completely different tool. It’s faster, closer to the action, and it gives you that dynamic, skateboarding-style movement that just feels alive. For me it’s not about flying for the sake of flying, it’s about opening up new camera moves and getting shots that are impossible with a standard drone. I also walk you through the setup I’m starting with, so you can see what I’m actually using to step into the FPV world: the iFlight Nazgul5 as my base, a FrSky controller, Fat Shark goggles, and a set of batteries to keep the practice going. For the camera side I mention gear I already use in my filmmaking workflow—like my Sony a6500 and lenses—and I link my LUTs and presets because the “moody” look is a big part of my edits. If you’re thinking about FPV for cinematic work, my biggest takeaway is: treat it like a filmmaking tool, expect a learning curve, and build a setup that makes you want to go out and fly.
