BetaFPV Air65 II Review – The Best 65mm Tiny Whoop Yet?

The Air 2 comes in three versions: Champion, Racing, and Freestyle. I’m flying the Freestyle, which is the heaviest of the three at just 17.8 grams, but all versions are still insanely light. Each version uses 0702 motors, ranging from 25,000 KV up to a wild 36,000 KV on the Champion. The biggest upgrade? The all-in-one flight controller. BetaFPV moved from a 5A ESC to a 12A ESC, which makes this quad noticeably more reliable. The frame and canopy have also been refined — lighter, stronger, and better designed than the original Air65. Battery support is handled through BT2.0, and if you’re picking batteries, the Lava 2.0 packs are excellent. With a 320mAh battery, I’m seeing up to 5 minutes of flight time, which is impressive for a 65mm quad. BetaFPV also released the Hexa Charger Pro, which lets you charge or storage-charge up to six 1S batteries (BT2.0, PH2.0, and GNB). If you’re not storage-charging your 1S packs, you’re killing them early — this charger makes battery care easy. I’ve been flying this quad a lot, including with my student drone racing team, and it’s been the smoothest Air65 yet. Indoors is where this thing really shines, especially with throttle limits and angle mode set up for beginners. This is easily one of the best 65mm quads to start with right now.
