At the end of the day, things work out the way they’re supposed to.” -Alex Fuentes Born in Washington State, grew up in Red Wing, Minnesota and now settled in Saint Paul. Alex grew up immersed in his family's restaurant business where he gained valuable experience in the world of hospitality. At age four and dressed in a tuxedo, Alex began as the restaurant’s customer greeter! While college initially took Alex on a different path, studying kinesiology and considering a career as an athletic trainer, he soon realized his true calling lay elsewhere. “Shortly after I got my AA degree, I discovered it wasn’t actually something I wanted to do and rather something I just chose as I was just following the ‘steps’ of what is expected after high school. But in reality I was lost and did not know what I wanted to really pursue.” Inspired by YouTube channels like @slikhaartv @nomadbarber & @haircutharry, Alex became captivated by the artistry and skill involved in barbering. With a deep-rooted love for getting his own haircuts, a penchant for working independently and being creative, as well as a passion for making others feel good, he decided to embark on a new journey to become a barber 💈 Leaving the family restaurant business behind, Alex took the plunge, and becoming a barber has been one of the best decisions he's ever made 🙌🏼❤️ During barber college, he met and became close friends with Patrick and Manny. The classic barbering that inspired them all in barber school continues to be their primary focus and can be experienced at Elizabeth’s Barber Shop. Not only does Alex want his customers to feel relaxed while in his chair but additionally “to feel like they can trust me and know that they will leave with a good service but also to feel excited to come in like they’re going to see a friend.” “Making people feel good and confident” is what Alex loves the most about his work.
