What’s good everyone, it’s Gyasi here. In this video I’m unboxing Apple’s newest (and cheapest) phone in the iPhone 16 lineup—the iPhone 16e—and giving you my first impressions plus a quick camera test out in Dumbo (one of my favorite NYC neighborhoods). Apple sent over a white 16e review unit with 512GB, and they also sent some colorful silicone cases that honestly got me excited about spring—Winter Blue and Lake Green. I usually lean clear case, but seeing these colors on the white 16e definitely had me reconsidering. Design-wise, the 16e feels super similar to the iPhone 16 Pro in the hand: sleek, flat edges, and just a single camera bump for the 2‑in‑1 system with the 48MP Fusion camera. The big tradeoff is no ultra-wide lens, which is a little disappointing—especially for people who love ultra-wide selfies and POV shots. I also break down the display upgrade to a Super Retina XDR OLED (finally on the budget lineup), the new Action Button, Apple Intelligence support, and the battery life jump (including comparisons to iPhone 11 and iPhone SE). Then I test the selfie camera—which matches the 16 Pro Max spec—and talk about using Audio Mix to isolate my voice in a noisy NYC environment.
