Here's a cool fact about this recording: Jeff Buckley actually recorded more than 20 takes of Hallelujah during the Grace sessions. He kept revisiting the song trying to match the phrasing he heard in his head, and engineer Andy Wallace ended up editing three separate recordings together to create the final version we all know. He originally discovered the song not through Leonard Cohen's original, but through John Cale's cover, which he stumbled across while housesitting for a friend.
