First open Adobe After Effects on your computer and wait for the program to load completely. After the workspace appears, create a new composition to begin your project. Set the composition settings you need, then confirm to open the timeline. Next, import two video clips from your computer into the project panel. After the clips have been imported, place both clips in the timeline in the order you want them to appear. Overlap the clips slightly so the transition area is created between them. Once the clips are arranged, select the first clip in the timeline by clicking it. Apply Gaussian Blur from the Effects & Presets panel to the first clip. After adding the effect, open the blur settings and enable Blurriness keyframes by clicking the stopwatch next to the Blurriness property. This creates the first keyframe at the current playhead position. Keep the blur value low or at zero at the start of the transition. Then move the playhead forward and increase the blur during the transition so the first clip becomes softer and less clear as it exits. Next, create a Null Object by right-clicking in the timeline and choosing New, then Null Object. A new null layer will appear in the timeline. Parent both clips to the null object by using the parent column and linking each clip layer to the null layer. This allows both clips to follow the null movement together. After parenting the layers, select the null object in the timeline. Press P on the keyboard to open the Position property. Enable keyframes by clicking the stopwatch next to Position. Add fast shake keyframes by moving the playhead in short intervals and changing the null position slightly left, right, up, or down. Continue creating quick position changes so the clips shake rapidly during the transition. After creating the shake motion, switch to the second clip in the timeline. As the second clip becomes visible, reduce the blur back to 0 so the new scene appears clear and sharp. After setting all keyframes, preview the result by playing the timeline from the beginning of the overlap section. Once everything looks correct, add the composition to the Render Queue. Click Render to export the final video. Your blur and shake transition is complete.
