Without Yapping, Here's How To Animate Gradient Text in After Effects. First open Adobe After Effects on your computer and wait for the program to load completely. After the workspace appears, create a new composition to begin your project. Set the composition and confirm it so the timeline becomes available. Next, select the Text Tool from the toolbar at the top of the screen. Click inside the composition panel and type the text you want to use for the animation. When your text appears, go to the timeline and select the text layer you just created. After selecting the text layer, right-click the layer to open the menu. Choose Create Shapes from Text from the list of options. A new shape layer based on your text will appear in the timeline. If needed, hide the original text layer so only the new shape layer remains visible. Then select the new shape layer to continue editing it. Open the Contents section of the shape layer by clicking the arrow beside the layer name. Inside the Contents section, click Add to open the list of available shape effects. From the list, choose Gradient Fill. The gradient fill effect will be added to the shape layer. Next, open the Gradient Fill settings so you can edit the colors and controls. Choose the gradient colors you want to apply to the text. Set the first and second colors, or more colors if needed, until the gradient looks correct. After choosing the colors, adjust the Start Point and End Point controls to set the direction and position of the gradient across the text. When the gradient placement looks ready, enable the stopwatch for the Start Point or End Point property to create the first keyframe. Move the playhead forward on the timeline to a later time where you want the animation to continue. Then change the gradient position by adjusting the Start Point or End Point values. This creates a second keyframe and forms the animation movement between the two points. Continue changing the gradient position if more motion is needed. After that, preview the result by playing the timeline and watching the animated gradient text. Once the animation looks correct, go to the menu and add the composition to the Render Queue. Check the render settings and output location. Finally, click Render to export your gradient text animation file.
