It's getting into molting season where chickens lose their old feathers to grow in their news ones! Chickens can easily become protein deficient during this time so boosting protein levels is very important! Here is one of my favorite things to give my chickens for extra protein! Black soldier fly larve https://grubterra.com/products/grubterra-5lb-black-soldier-fly-larvae?selling_plan=898760817&variant=31356933505137 For more content and behind the scenes, follow me on the socials linked below! About This Video

Hey y’all, in this video I’m talking about something that can look a little scary the first time you notice it—chickens losing feathers. If your flock is looking rough right now, don’t panic. A lot of times it’s just molting season, where they drop old feathers so they can grow in fresh new ones. Molting is normal, but it can make your hens look patchy and feel a little more stressed while their bodies are working hard to replace all that plumage. One of my biggest takeaways is that chickens can easily become protein deficient during a molt, so boosting protein is really important. When my birds are molting, I like to give them an extra protein boost to help support healthy feather regrowth. One of my favorite things to offer is black soldier fly larvae, because it’s an easy add-on that my chickens go crazy for. If your flock is molting, focus on supporting them through it—extra protein can make a big difference as they grow those new feathers in.
