You can find the 8" frying pans at Walmart. Just make sure they are coated white or silver so you don't have to paint the inside to make it reflective. As far as the telescoping stand goes, you need around 18" of 1/2" copper pipe or electrical conduit. The other 3/4" tube can be shorter. It depends on how short or tall you want to make it. The frying pan handles simply unscrew and you can reuse the screw to attach the pipe to the frying pan. Use thread-locker. There are a multitude of ways you can make a stand. Its much easier to not make it extendable and use one pipe. That way there is less mock up and thought needed other than how tall you want to make it. Its just that it's permanent. But there are other options too. You can always use a table top light and modify it. This project was just made using what "I" had laying around to make it cheap. I suggest an easy way to make it adjustable is to just drill holes along the pipe and move the light to whatever hole suits your needs. Or you can bend the pipe so that the top is centered over the lower pan and hang the light. That way it can be raised and lowered easily. I just liked the idea of having a more sturdy setup.
