Recorded from the Saturn V Center at 6.2 miles from the pad, this is the launch of the Falcon 9 with a payload of the JCSAT-18/KACIFIC1 satellite. It was placed in geosynchronous orbit (similar to how DirectTV satellites orbit.) JCSAT-18 for mobile and broadband connections. I used a Yi4k action cam for the wide angle, a Canon SX50HS for the telephoto shot of the launch pad and the Canon 70D with a 250mm STM lens for the best video result. I also used a Manfrotto fluid tripod video head for smooth tracking. The 2 main cameras were double mounted on a custom platform. The same setup was used during the solar eclipse a few years ago. I only ended up using a short portion of the SX50 video clip because during recording, You cannot change the manual exposure. And it also lost fixed focus because the zoom was adjusted during set up. That's why I always mainly trust my DSLR and use multiple cameras for rare events.
