This is how to make pottery with cracked texture. I make a big rectangle bonsai pot (± 55cm or 22") with the crackle technique using soda silicate. Pottery made with the clay slab, deformed to obtain the crackle effect. This os how to use Sodium Silica by mixing soda silicate with slip which is applied on the surface. Sodium silicate pottery technique is usually made on a round pot, but I show how to make a cracked texture on ceramics without a wheel on a rectangle pottery made with clay slab.. Pottery handmade in white sandstone, firing at 1250 C°.
