We (Wes) tested the new Callaway Paradym Smoke Ai Max Driver against last year's Paradym on our Garmin R10 and Mevo launch monitors. (final write-up of our experience with these drivers at https://golfergeeks.com in the next week or two, if not sooner) Wes is a scratch handicap. A great driver with a 116 mph average swing speed. Former club fitter and current equipment nerd and tinkerer. Avid competitive golfer. All-around good guy. I hit the driver ok, but Wes is a beast. He can figure out what's what pretty quick with any club, so we're taking advantage of that for this comparison. Wes's final impressions on his testing: * The AI smoke felt better on the miss hits. * I think the Paradym was less forgiving on mishits. * I think the AI smoke has the potential to be a much hotter driver. While the numbers didn’t necessarily dictate it for me the spin was just a little bit higher, so it decreased the total distance. * I think the Paradym is still a very good driver, but not worth upgrading to the AI smoke unless you were concerned about the miss hits more so than the ones that you hit well. * I think the technology in the AI smoke and the change to getting away from the jailbreak face, gives AI smoke more forgiveness.
