Urban Camping, really discrete on-street parking, is one my favorite things of VanLife travel. New Albany, Indiana is a great example of a safe and fun place to visit and “camp” discretely park overnight on the street. Live like a local! New Albany, Indiana, is a historic and increasingly trendy city located just across the Ohio River from Louisville, Kentucky. You get the perks of a small-town vibe with quick access to the urban culture, nightlife, and events of Louisville—just a short bridge away. Charming Downtown New Albany has undergone a big revitalization and is now full of Local restaurants like The Exchange Pub + Kitchen and Brooklyn and the Butcher, Craft breweries (e.g., Floyd County Brewing Co.), Boutique shops and antique stores, and Art galleries and public art displays. History It was once one of the richest cities in Indiana due to its steamboat building industry. You can explore historic mansions like the Culbertson Mansion State Historic Site. The Town Clock Church was a major stop on the Underground Railroad. Outdoor Activities Ohio River Greenway offers scenic walking and biking along the riverfront. Falls of the Ohio State Park (nearby in Clarksville) has fossil beds dating back 390 million years.
