The Remo 8" Silent Practice Pad really surprised me with how close it feels to a real snare. The Silent Stroke mesh head is super quiet, has a slight give under the stick, and feels more forgiving on your hands than firmer pads. It also has a plastic rim for practicing rimshots and can sit on a table or mount to a stand.
