This is a pretty unique truck in today’s market, and it’s clear Ford was aiming to build something that prioritizes handling and driving enjoyment rather than just straight-line performance or towing. The LOBO gets a number of meaningful upgrades over a standard Maverick, including improved suspension tuning, better tires, revised steering, upgraded brakes, additional cooling, and transmission enhancements designed to make the truck feel sharper and more capable when driven hard. On the road, those changes do make a noticeable difference, and it’s easy to appreciate the effort Ford put into making this truck feel more engaging behind the wheel. That said, the biggest limitation in my opinion is the engine. The 2.0L EcoBoost is the same power output you get in other Maverick models, and while it’s a solid and well-proven engine, this truck could really benefit from a bit more power to match its sporty character. Overall, the Maverick LOBO is an interesting and well-executed idea. It may not be for everyone, but it’s good to see manufacturers experimenting and offering something different in the truck segment. Let me know what you think of the Maverick LOBO.
