How to Replace / Upgrade Your PS4 Hard Drive + Copy All Data

If you feel that the internal hard drive in your PS4 is getting a bit tight in terms of storage capacity it is actually super easy to upgrade it yourself. Replacing the hard drive does also not void your warranty, if you’ve got any of that left. The console in the video is a PS4 Slim. However apart from how to actually remove the old drive and insert the new one the procedure of backing up all your data and reinstalling the PS4 operating system is the same on both the normal PS4 as well as the Slim- and Pro models. *This tutorial goes through how to:* 1. Back up all your PS4 data (saved games) etc. to a USB-stick 2. Replace the old internal hard drive with a new internal hard drive 3. Install the PS4 operating system onto the new hard drive 4. Copy all your data back to the console with the new drive installed *Tools and material you will need:* - A new Hard Drive to put in your PS4-console. | _This can be any normal 2,5 inch drive (mechanical or SSD) as long as it is not thicker than 9,5 mm and has got less than 8 TB of storage (which is the maximum limit for the PS4)._ - A USB-stick (minimum 2 GB) | _Actual needed size depends on the size of your local data that needs to backed up.
