Welcome to my Smart Home Tour 2025—Apple Home edition—from SilverHammer Studio, my new live/work space. I’ve been at this since I started SilverHammer Surveillance back in 2008, and this place feels like the latest “chapter” in that whole journey. In this video I walk you through the setup room by room, showing how I’m using Apple Home/HomeKit as the backbone to tie everything together in a way that’s actually livable day-to-day, not just “smart home for the sake of smart home.” Security is still my bread and butter, so you’ll see plenty of home security tech mixed right in with the fun stuff. I talk through why I chose specific gear, how I think about real-world placement, and what makes a setup feel reliable instead of fiddly. Along the way I highlight some of the tech that makes the studio feel like home—big screen + audio, lighting control, air quality, and even cleaning automation—while keeping the focus on what matters: protecting what you care about with a system you’ll actually use.
