Productivity has traditionally been associated with pushing through and forcing results. How does joyful productivity address tasks you don't want to do but feel you must — for example, cold outbound sales, and writing from a blank page? George introduced the EASE framework: E — Eliminate: Ask whether the task can simply be dropped, and what would happen if it were. A — Automate: Explore whether AI or other tools can handle the task. Describe the goal to AI rather than the specific steps, and let it find the pathway. S — Share: If automation isn't possible, delegate or co-work with someone. Body doubling (co-working on a Zoom call) is a valid form of sharing. E — En-joy: If the task truly cannot be eliminated, automated, or shared, approach it as a spiritual practice — bringing presence, meaning, and divine connection to the work. George also offered an alternative framing for the first "E" as Experiment: rather than cold calling, experiment with entirely different pathways to the same goal (e.g., content-based inbound strategies). For the blank-page writing problem, he suggested using AI as a conversational brainstorming partner — asking it to encourage a stream-of-consciousness idea dump without offering its own ideas, then having it compile the output into a finished piece. Alternatively, a 15-minute conversation with a colleague who asks questions about the topic can replace the blank-page starting point. ** My best videos: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLKgVtpwuUQ1sziqRw_88cCzWcYAk1aik_ My socials: https://www.instagram.com/geokao https://www.linkedin.com/company/georgekao/ https://www.facebook.com/GeorgeKaoCommunity/ https://substack.com/@georgekao My email newsletter: https://www.GeorgeKao.com/email
