In this video, I’m testing the RØDE Wireless Micro Camera Kit and talking about the one big thing RØDE finally fixed… and the other thing they still kind of forgot. This kit is basically RØDE’s tiny wireless mic system, but aimed at people who want to plug straight into a camera setup instead of living entirely in the phone world. I break down what it is, what’s new with the receiver (RX) compared to the older version, and why that change matters if you’re actually using this in real-world shoots. I also compare the new RØDE receiver to the DJI Mic Mini RX, because that’s the obvious cross-shop if you’re trying to keep your audio kit small and simple. Then I get into the parts I don’t like—because even though RØDE improved one key piece, there are still workflow gaps that can make this feel less “grab-and-go” than it should be. The other big update is the new Bluetooth connectivity, and I explain who I think this kit is actually for—especially if you’re a creator who wants clean wireless audio without carrying a full-size receiver setup.
