Watch This Before Buying an ORTUR R2 Laser

#laserengraving #DIY #smallbusiness I really wanted to love the Ortur R2 smart laser engraver, but after weeks of testing in my shop, I ran into issues that made it hard to recommend as-is. In this review, I cover the unboxing and setup, the 20W diode laser performance on wood and leather, the enclosure design, air assist, and how it works with LightBurn. The biggest problem for me was the camera alignment and calibration. What you see in the camera preview doesn’t reliably match where the design actually lands, and the mobile app workflow felt unfinished. I also tested the IR laser module for metal marking and ran into inconsistent behavior.
