I Didn’t Smash It. They Did. Here’s What Actually Matters

I’m testing the GEEKOM IT12 mini PC the way you’ll actually use it—no sledgehammers, just ports, thermals, and workflows. In real use, USB4 delivers fast external NVMe speeds, 2.5GbE keeps file copies/NAS work snappy, and four monitors are doable without a dock. It’s quiet(ish) at idle, audible under sustained load (physics!), and the rear-only USB-C is a trade-off: cleaner cable runs, less convenient hot-swap. Not a AAA gaming rig, but for creator/streaming (1080p/1440p with proxies), multi-monitor productivity, and a mini lab (Hyper-V / WSL2 / Docker) this hits the sweet spot. Go i7 if you want stronger Iris Xe iGPU; the i5 is fine for office, VMs, and light edits.
