Chocolate Chocolate Chip Cookie Copycat Recipe! (Levain Bakery NYC) These ultra-thick, super-rich Chocolate Chocolate Chip Cookies are inspired by the famous Levain Bakery in New York City. Crispy on the outside, gooey in the center, and loaded with deep chocolate flavor — these cookies taste like they came straight from the bakery. Below is the full recipe I used in this video (this is the doubled batch). Ingredients (2× Batch) 2 cups cold butter, cut into cubes 2 cups brown sugar 1 cup granulated sugar 4 large eggs 1 cup dark baking cocoa 2 cups cake flour 3 cups all-purpose flour 2 teaspoons cornstarch 1 ½ teaspoons baking soda 1 teaspoon salt 2.67 cups semisweet chocolate chips Instructions Preheat oven to 410°F. Cream cold butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar together for about 4 minutes, until light and fluffy. Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Add cocoa, cake flour, all-purpose flour, cornstarch, baking soda, and salt. Mix until combined. Fold in the chocolate chips. Chill dough for 15 minutes. Portion dough into large balls (about 4.5–6 oz each). Place 4–6 cookies on a lightly colored cookie sheet and gently press the tops. Bake for 9–11 minutes, until tops are set but centers are still soft. Let cookies rest for 10–15 minutes so they finish setting. Enjoy!
