In this wash day, I’m unboxing and trying a full lineup from AG Care that was gifted to me—five products total—and of course I went straight for the moisturizing options because my type 4 hair needs that. I used the Xtramoist Moisturizing Shampoo, Ultramoist Conditioner, Reconstruct Vitamin C Strengthening Mask, and the Fast Food Leave-On Conditioner (plus they also sent the Set It Straight straightening lotion). I also shared a little ingredient education moment, because I was today years old learning more about DMDM hydantoin—and I love that these products are always without a bunch of drying/controversial ingredients. I started with a pre-poo (because I waited about a week and a half to wash, and my hair WILL tangle if I go too long). The shampoo smelled like candy, cleansed well, and I focused on my scalp first like I always do. The rinse-out conditioner was honestly the least impressive step for me—leaving it on for two minutes didn’t feel like it added much—so I’m not sure it’s worth it at this price point. The stars for me were the deep conditioner/mask and the leave-in. Even with protein in the mask, my hair felt soft and moisturized, and the Fast Food leave-in made styling ridiculously easy—like, I barely had to re-detangle. I finished with a simple protective style (cornrows in the front) and my hair held up really well for the week.
