Restoring the peace in Ukraine is not enough. More important is how we can shield it to protect it from further invasion and ensure a sustainable path for recovery and future prosperity. There is a strong belief that the key marker for Ukraine’s and Europe’s victory in the ongoing Russian war in Ukraine will be a restored and reconfirmed sovereignty of Ukraine, where Ukraine's accelerated accession to the EU has become central. Yet, immediate imperatives of cessation of the hostilities still remain, before we start working on mid-term challenges of reconstruction.
