In Video 4 of my “How to Bible Study with a Journal” series, I’m focusing on how to dig deeper and what to actually write down when you’re studying. Journaling isn’t about making the prettiest page—it’s about slowing down long enough to see what God is saying in the text. I share simple note-taking prompts you can use right away, plus how I organize my thoughts so I’m not just reading, but really understanding and applying Scripture. I also talk through the tools I like to keep nearby for Bible study journaling—things like a journaling Bible (or even a separate dot grid journal), Bible-safe pens, and highlighters that make it easy to mark key words and themes without stressing. And when I need extra context, I’ll pull in trusted resources like Bible Project and Enduring Word Commentary to help me understand the background and flow of a passage. My goal is to help you build a consistent, doable rhythm so you can flourish in God’s Word—one study session at a time.
