Early spring Pre-Spawn Wisconsin Crappie Fishing (Surprise Catch)

Fishing for crappie in the spring is almost every angler's favorite thing to do. Crappie transition from their deep winter basins to shallow spawning flats throughout the months of April and May in Wisconsin and Minnesota. This transition is determined strictly by water temperature. In this video, water temperature was in the low 40 degrees and the crappie were still suspended in deepest part of this river system.
