The albright knot is a common joining knot or connection knot used to tie a leader to a main line, or for tying two pieces of rope together. In fishing, it's most often used to tie a braided line to a monofilament or fluorocarbon leader line. Using a leader is very common when fishing for bass, walleye, pike, musky, catfish, and more.
