The X1 Lite 255 was my USB4 test box, and it shows exactly why eGPU docks exist. On iGPU it was fine for light use (~31K Geekbench OpenCL), but with the RTX 5080 over USB4 it jumped to ~215K and suddenly 2K ultra gaming with DLSS was actually enjoyable.

Pros

+Great example of how an eGPU can transform a small mini PC
+USB4 setup was straightforward (drivers, disable iGPU, done)

Cons

-USB4 can be inconsistent with high-end GPUs in heavy scenes
-Needs true USB4/Thunderbolt (USB-C 3.x won’t work)
