With steep switchbacks, narrow roads, crazy weather, and some unforgettable views, this was next level. Along the way we filtered water in the backcountry, searched for a last-minute campsite, discovered unexpected wildlife, and even ran into a campground closed because of bear activity. What started as a total detour turned into one of the most epic drives of our travels.
