A last-minute demand from a mortgage lender before they approve your application can be agonizing. Here’s how I’d handle a late request about credit cards. One of my readers was asked to close credit card accounts in order to further reassure her mortgage lender that she wouldn’t default on her loan. These sorts of last-minute requests from banks can drive qualified borrowers nuts. So check out this Real Estate Minute for my answer to this late request from a mortgage provider.
