As virtual reality and augmented reality technology evolves and becomes more accessible, a new generation of artists have embraced its immersive promise and sensorial potential. Through digital landscapes, these creators are developing new ways to communicate and interpret our varied realities. SPEAKER: Jane Gauntlett A writer, designer and producer of interactive experiences, Jane Gauntlett utilises new technologies to push audiences further. Her narrative-driven VR artworks explore the capacity for technology to intensify audience experience, including her recent work ‘In My Shoes: Intimacy’ presented as part of 'Experimenta Make Sense', touring exhibition 2017-2023. ‘In My Shoes: Intimacy’ is a first-person documentary, that tells the stories of two strangers, two comrades and two lovers. It explores the importance of intimacy in survival, relationships and sexuality, shared through a 2-person virtual reality experience.
