PANEL DISCUSSION, ‘Empathy Machines’ 21 October 2017, ACMI X, Melbourne Creating versions of our reality and vehicles for empathy, artists are utilising digital technology as a tool to transport the viewer into sensory digital landscapes. However, what are the impacts of these immersive experiences on our emotional and physical states? Can VR and AR technology truly replicate a feeling or sense? This panel will explore the various facets of what it means to mix our realities and the current predicaments of this thriving technology.
