Central to Australian experimental artist duo Cake Industries' practice are works that reflect and challenge our relationship with technology. In this episode of ‘Experimenta Studio Session’, Jesse Stevens & Dean Petersen discuss their process for discovering new creative tools to push the boundaries of sculpture and electronics. In 2019 Experimenta commissioned Cake Industries’ roaming artwork, ‘The Hybrid Society’, which premiered at Robotronica (QLD) and captivated audiences at White Night Ballarat (VIC). Get an insight into how these mechatronic sculptures are developed and how these artists find inspiration in new materials, objects and methods within their studio space.
