The GE Profile is the pick I recommend when you want both power and quiet in the same unit. In testing, it cooled a midsized room in under 10 minutes on an average setting, and the cold blast at the vents was stronger than other options I tried. The auto louvers are a feature I particularly like for apartments, but note the remote buttons don’t light up at night.
