My bed sensor is one of my favourites as it opens the door for many new smart home automations and a while back I made a video showing how to make one yourself using cheap loads cells which basically turns your bed into a big set of scales. However, that solution isn't always plausible for some people without the necessary equipment and completely depends on your bed frame.
