In this video, I put the Bissell Little Green Max Pet and the Little Green HydroSteam head-to-head to answer the big question: is the HydroSteam actually worth upgrading to? I tested both machines the way most of us really use them—on old pet stains, set-in carpet stains, and months-old upholstery spills—so this isn’t a “fresh spill” demo where anything would look good. The Max Pet is already a solid step up from the original Little Green, but I wanted to see how much real-world difference the HydroSteam feature makes when stains have had time to bake in. My main takeaway is pretty straightforward: if you’re mostly dealing with newer messes and routine spot cleaning, the Max Pet can get the job done and is a strong value. But when you’re tackling older, stubborn stains—especially pet-related stuff that’s been sitting—the HydroSteam takes stain removal to another level and pulls ahead in side-by-side comparisons. I also talk through who should save the money, who should upgrade, and why the HydroSteam’s extra cleaning power matters most when you’re trying to revive carpet and upholstery that’s already been through it.
