2025 Cadillac Lyriq Luxury 3 Full Review + Pros & Cons

The right way to go about things is to evaluate the mid-range trims and decide if these enhancements are worth the extra cost so I’ll go over them first. All the features I’ll list are present in the Luxury 2 and Sport 2 models where they both start at around CA$77,433. The differences between the Luxury and Sport versions are external as the Luxury features an illuminated black front grill with Galvano Chrome detailing while the Sport has a sportier grill with Obsidian Chrome detailing. Exterior/Design The body is quite angular and very interesting and the front grill features an LED lighting array in place of a traditional grille. The Cadillac LYRIQ is outfitted with chunkly, lower-profile 20-inch wheels and a 7-inch ground clearance. You’ll be rewarded with larger 22-inch wheels if you go for the premium Luxury 3 or Sport 3 trim levels. Moving to the sides, the door handles sit flush with the door unless you unlock or approach the vehicle and then they pop out. Let's take this opportunity to go inside Interior Cockpit/Driver Area The driver seat is particularly comfortable and luxurious it's fully adjustable and in this model there's even a Massage option which is not at all like those chairs you find at the spa; here it's more of a subtle light adjustment. All Cadillac LYRIQ trims feature both heating and ventilation for both the driver and the passenger—those controls are found on each persons door. The steering wheel is heated as well. And speaking of regenerative breaking, there is also more traditional regenerative breaking which, if you've never used it essentially allows you to skip the brake pedal altogether. You can toggle this setting on or off with a single button on the dash and when it's on all you need to do is ease your foot off the gas pedal and breaking will happen automatically and you can control it by easing off quicker or slower. For such a large screen, I was surprised to see some physical controls for adjusting the climate settings, but don't get me wrong I like that a lot better than fiddling with a screen for that stuff. Cadillac even added a rotary dial near the physical climate controls for navigating the infotainment in case you don’t want to reach and use the touch interface. Super Cruise Hands-Free Driving One of the other features you'll probably really enjoy when it comes to driving is GM’s award-winning Super Cruise Hands-Free Driving feature isn’t exactly a new technology, and I did have a change to try it on the Chevy Traverse I reviewed last year. But it deserves diving into again… Worth mentioning; Super cruise is both an add on that will add a couple thousand dollars to your vehicle cost and it also requires an ongoing subscription. Cadillac gives you a three-year trial period, and after that it will cost you about $30 per month to keep using it. A Super Cruise indicator will illuminate on the instrument cluster if all conditions are met. From there wait for the steering wheel light bar to turn green. This serves as your cue for removing your hands from the wheel and let the Super Cruise take control from there. Using this the first few times is definitely freaky. And even though I've tried it before I was still apprehensive just because the technology is so new to me. Super Cruise also has an alert system that uses cameras in the car to make sure you're still watching the road, checking you eye gaze and head pose, so no scrolling Instagram while you're driving. The steering wheel will first flash green the moment you lose focus and will later flash red to further get your attention. The voice prompts will follow as a third alert and if it doesn’t detect any steering input, the car will automatically slow down and disable the feature. If you get put in super cruise jail you'll need to pull over and shut the car off in order to reenable it. And I'm all for that. Park Assist You'll start by pulling past a parking space and the vehicle will let you know when it can help you get into it. It appears you need clear markings on the road or to be between two vehicles for it to recognize the opportunity. I tried a few times in a parking lot with less than visible lines and it couldn't see any opportunities.
