Please report it here: https://support.google.com/mail/contact/abuse "How do I sound natural behind a mic?" This is the question I hear most from aspiring podcasters. When I first started recording, I sounded nothing like myself. The gap between what I thought I'd sound like and what I actually sounded like made me wonder if I just didn't have the talent. Here's what the research says: psychologist Anders Ericsson found that "natural talent" is usually just deliberate practice over time. Not volume - deliberate practice. There's a difference. Focus on a sub-skill. Don't batch 20 episodes and call it reps. Record one, identify what to fix, improve it in the next. Get critical feedback. Evaluate your own work honestly, or find someone who can give you specific notes. Accept discomfort. Your brain is learning something new. You can't quit when it gets hard. The paradox: the more you try to control sounding natural, the less natural you sound. What reads as "natural" is actually presence - being here with the mic instead of in your head. Nobody sounds the same on episode 100 as episode one. The hosts you admire didn't start that way. They just started. –––– πŸ™‹πŸΎβ€β™€οΈ Who am I?
