#tacotuesday This is the install of the Toyota Intake Flow Accelerator on my 2018 Toyota Tacoma TRD off-road. In about 5mins, you can install this with a few basic hand tools. This part and a high flow air filter (K&N in my case), provide most of the results of the Toyota TRD Cold Air Intake (CAI), for a fraction of the cost. I like that this largely maintains the Toyota engineered aspects of the intake, and does not draw air from inside the engine bay like most of the aftermarket options. Where to get it? You can order this part from any Toyota dealer, it is a genuine Toyota part that comes as part of the TRD CAI. You can order the TRD air filter, or go with an aftermarket filter. CAI’s are a hotly debated topic on the interwebz...in my personal experience, I find them to be slightly beneficial in providing a little more power/throttle response, and a slight bump in fuel economy. Living in Colorado, I feel these things are magnified, however the benefits are not significant enough for me to spend large sums of money on it, which is why I find this to be a functionally viable value...for me.
