These walnut floating shelves look so good in our den. The finish came out great in the end but it wasn't without trial and error. I had been wanting to install a floating shelf in the den of our new home but when it came down to it I figured two floating shelves was the way to go. I have seen so many great ideas when it comes to what size and design to go with. For me I wanted something that was truly solid and sturdy. My wife wanted that classic walnut look and I knew there was no way to really capture that look by staining a cheaper wood. So, that being said I splurged and spent some serious cash on walnut....and I don't regret it! How to build walnut floating shelves you ask???
