Some call it a Wedding Arbor and some call it a Wedding Arch. But whatever you call it....It sure looks great behind the bride and groom. I had a blast making this wedding arch for my son Chandler and his fiancé (now wife) Ryanne. She asked that I make one for her wedding and I was thrilled she did. I had never made a wedding arbor before and was excited to have some creative freedom with the project. Ryanne gave me a great starting point by showing me a general idea of what she was looking for. Whatever she showed me I was going to try and make a better. I really think I accomplished that with this build. If you are looking to how to build a wedding arch, then you found the right video. I don't go over the exact measurements because you can really make this as large or as small as you like. I really think you have to customize it to your space and who is going to be standing in front or underneath it. I found 7-8 feet to be about the right height. The space we were working with was spacious so it made it easier. This video has to be one of my favorites up until now. This one is more personal to me because I talk a bit about my relationship with Chandler and the family I was blessed to marry into. I hope you enjoy a personal dive into my story. At the end of the video I showcase some great pictures from the wedding. The venue was amazing and it really complimented the wedding arch. I hope you enjoy the video and don't forget to hit the like button and leave a comment. I love hearing from everyone and I reply to all of the comments. ******************************* Check Out The Dude Sawdust Etsy Store for Merch and Digital Build Plans: https://www.etsy.com/shop/DudeSawdust?ref=seller-platform-mcnav Visit www.Patreon.com/DudeSawdust Visit Taytools Affiliate Link: 3,000+ Specialty Hand Tools for Woodworkers & Crafters of all types: https://lddy.no/12imo Support Dude Sawdust by purchasing though the Amazon affiliate links featured in this video: Dewalt Miter Saw: https://rivr.link/LH9-26nBNd Dewalt Table Saw: https://rivr.link/LH9-ixHR0H Dewalt Drill Bits: https://rivr.link/LH9-AO14s3 Dewalt Planer: https://rivr.link/LH9-lX4pYl Empire 6 inch Speed Square: https://rivr.link/LH9-VYsFUa 12 Inch L Framing Square: https://rivr.link/LH9-GTD6gI 25 inch tape measure: https://rivr.link/LH9-EmRj6M Porter Cable Circular Saw: https://rivr.link/LH9-JpRaZd Irwin Chisels: https://rivr.link/LH9-ZPzhC_ Husky File Set: https://rivr.link/LH9-yZs4Jz Duratec Positioning Squares: https://rivr.link/LH9-AhScTO Bessy 50 inch Bar Clamps: https://rivr.link/LH9-S2Cgoy Titebond 3 Glue: https://rivr.link/LH9-qb85H7 Titebond 2 Glue: https://rivr.link/LH9-uJ1qls Builder's paper: https://rivr.link/LH9-3qiq9O Glue Brushes: https://rivr.link/LH9-h3aiZB WEN 6-amp Electric Hand Planer: https://rivr.link/LH9-lee1hZ12 inch level: https://rivr.link/LH9-lEDF6C Rubber Mallet: https://rivr.link/LH9-I8RfId Ryobi 18 Gauge Brad Nailer: https://rivr.link/LH9-aqUp9z Dewalt Cordless Drill: https://rivr.link/LH9-M_R3db Irwin Forstner 14-Piece Bit Set: https://rivr.link/LH9-BNLoXX Kirkland Tuna: https://rivr.link/LH9-WC3zDV Ridgid Sander/Oscillating Edge Belt: https://rivr.link/LH9-hfELU2 Lag Bolts 3.5 inch 5/16: https://rivr.link/LH9-Po7zSa Dap Walnut Wood Filler: https://rivr.link/LH9-DIrzhR Dewalt 1/4 Sheet Palm Sander: https://rivr.link/LH9-1H6JEO Foam Brushes: https://rivr.link/LH9-iVdWUM Rags for Staining: https://rivr.link/LH9-TfocZQ Follow me on: https://www.instagram.com/dudesawdust Contact: dudesawdustchannel@gmail.com 0:00 Intro 1:50 Trimming down the 4x4s for the wedding arbor 2:31 Cutting post down to size 3:05 Cutting the ladder steps of the wedding arch 3:50 Cutting dados for the steps 4:15 Glue up for the ladders 5:15 Cutting trim for the steps 5:38 Planning the proudness of the steps to prepare for the trim 5:58 Cutting more wedding arbor dados 6:20 Gluing the cross beams to the wedding arch 6:56 Attaching trim pieces to the ladders 7:24 Cutting dados for the roof of the wedding arch 8:15 Attaching the support pieces to the roof 9:01 Test fitting the roof 9:11 Cutting the 45 degree supports for the corners 9:41 Attaching the 45 degree supports 10:12 Final wedding arch assembly before staining 10:23 Using wood filler on nail holes and imperfections 10:44 Applying pre-stain wood conditioner with a foam brush 11:07 Applying Special Walnut wood stain with a rag to the wedding arbor 11:43 Conclusion
