How to Build a Painter's Palette. Made of Wood and Sealed for Protection.

What is on my face?!?! Who knew building a painter's palette could be fun & yummy. Find out why by watching this video! My daughter Téa is an arts and crafts aficionado, as well as a pretty good little artist. She likes to work with any medium that she can get access to. When she came to me asking to build a painter's palette, I thought this could be a fun and easy woodworking project anyone with the right tools could do. Sometimes its nice to step away from the large time consuming woodworking projects and do something easy and simple. Initially I wanted to make her 2 painter's palettes. But instead of making two thin 1/4 plywood palettes, I learned that if I simply glue the two pieces together I could make one really nice painter's pallet. The look and feel of the 2 ply gave the palette a very solid feel and looked so much better. I gave it a round over edge which removed the sharpness and added to the appealing aesthetic I was hoping for. I added 4 coats of Watco wipe on polyurethane which gave it a really nice shiny look and also sealed the wood. If my daughter is careful she can more easily remove unwanted paint from her palette at the end of her painting sessions. Now she is asking me to build her an easel.
