About This Video

Welcome back for part two of this little Virginia adventure. I camped overnight along Long Run Road, and even though it dipped down into the mid/high 40s, it really wasn’t too bad—sunrise made it 100% worth it. From camp, I start heading out toward Reddish Knob, and if you’ve never driven it, it’s one of those “don’t skip it” mountain-top scenic drives. ONX rates it around a 1–2, but to me it’s more like a 1 because it’s mainly just gorgeous views, plus there’s plenty of dispersed camping up there. After soaking in Reddish Knob, I roll on to Flagpole Knob, which is where things get more technical. It’s rated a 2, and it can push toward a 3 in sections—especially depending on your setup and which direction you’re running it. In this run I was heading downhill toward Harrisonburg, and downhill can feel more technical than climbing, so I talk a little bit about stock suspension vs modified rigs and why taking it slow matters. I also walk through my inverter setup in the back of my 2024 Colorado Trail Boss, because being able to charge my camera batteries and gear while I’m driving is a game changer. And to wrap it up, I toss in some night footage so you can see the hot glow LED lights I installed in a previous video.
