In this video I’m in straight-up practice mode, working on “Imposed Corporeal Inhabitation” by Defeated Sanity off The Sanguinary Impetus. The whole point here is tightening up a high-quality performance of the tune, and I’m not exaggerating when I say this is easily one of the most difficult songs I’ve ever attempted. It’s the kind of tech death that forces you to be honest about your picking, your fretting-hand synchronization, and your endurance. This one is basically a snapshot of the grind: running sections, locking in the feel, and getting my hands used to the demands of the song so the final playthrough can be clean and controlled. If you’re into extreme metal guitar, this is a good reminder that “hard” songs don’t come together by accident—you’ve got to put in the reps until the parts feel inevitable. I’m chasing consistency and clarity here, not just “getting through it.”
