U45 System

The XVive U45 is my favorite “stop going into debt” solution for local bands that just need click and cues on stage. For around $239, you can plug it into a board output, build a simple submix, and get your drummer locked to a click without dragging a $10K rack to every gig.

Pros

  • +Affordable way to get a drummer on click live
  • +Clean sound with full frequency range
  • +Low latency (under 5ms) so it feels immediate
  • +Simple transmitter/receiver setup with XLR or 1/4" input
  • +Can run multiple receivers on the same mix (up to six)

Cons

  • -You may need the venue sound person (or a knowledgeable bandmate) to set up the submix
  • -One transmitter feed means one mix unless you buy additional systems

What Drew Creal says

Okay, so what I'm going to do now is talk about the quirks and features of the U45 system
Or you could get uh several U45 systems and basically every you could you could do like maybe four or five different submixes if your board has that capacity and then everybody can hear the click, hear the cues, hear the different tracks that you have going in to uh the soundboard coming from maybe a laptop or something like that
