Rare Beauty Liquid Touch Weightless Foundation

“hey guys it's treya so today i am doing a foundation review for you this is the liquid touch weightless foundation from rare beauty which is a brand new beauty brand from selena gomez and here's the foundation that i'm going to be reviewing today um this is 38 canadian it comes in 48 shades is a medium natural finish and they describe it as a weightless foundation with concentrated pigments featuring a convenient doe foot applicator this foundation delivers pure pigments packed in a serum-like base making it easy to blend and build coverage while evening out skin tone no clogging or caking it calms and nourishes skin for comfortable long wear in 48 shades so i am going to show you um an application wear test an all-day wear test and then i'm also going to be using it for two further days after that and give you my full thoughts at the end so we're gonna get like a first impression and then also a further review on top of that so that it's not just a first impression video so let's get into the wear test okay we are reviewing the rare beauty liquid touch weightless foundation um in the shade 230n it says a foundation elixir that feels barely there while building coverage and boosting your natural glow i haven't done a foundation review in forever so let's hope that i know what i'm doing a but i'm also very excited because i love reviewing foundation i've just been project panning them for like the last year so i haven't really bought any new ones so i'm really excited about this okay so this is the rare beauty foundation um i really wasn't sure what shade to get because it's like the height of summer i'm at my most tan so i just kind of went with what i thought would match like my tan and like my skin tone right now it kind of looks dark i'm kind of worried but it's probably going to be okay this is very interesting i wasn't sure like just ordering it off of the sephora website if it was gonna be a pump or what but it's one of those unscrew ones and then it's got the big like buck foot applicator on it so that's not my favorite method of foundation like i love that for concealer but for foundation i just don't like the idea of constantly dipping back in like putting it on your face dipping back in putting on your face just i don't see the point for foundation i would much rather have like an airtight pump and that way you know nothing gets in nothing gets that like well it gets out it comes out what you want to do but nothing gets in um so not my favorite type of packaging but it is like a nice it looks like it's supposed to be glass but it actually kind of feels like plastic but it is like matte and like really kind of cute okay so i'm just gonna pair it with my benefit professional primer and my rimmel stay matte mattifying loose powder as well i'm also going to be using for concealer the elf hydrating uh camo concealer and the becca hydro mist setting powder for under my eyes and i kind of thought maybe i should use a brush on one side of my face but realistically i never use a brush so i just don't love the finish any brush gives with the foundation over a sponge i just think sponges i know i'm saying just like very like emphatically i think sponges make everything so much more blended so much more smooth so much more like your own skin so i'm only going to use a sponge today this is the bh cosmetics studio pro sponge i've been through tens of these like i love this sponge it's so so good okay so let's see how this bad boy goes on let's see how much i need that's another big question is like normally you can gauge with a pump like how many pumps you need on your face but with these little swipey guys it's kind of hard because not a lot comes out on this um but i'm just going to do like one swipe there one this is kind of like how i would normally kind of put a drop of foundation on my skin because that doesn't look like a full pump i'm going to start with that amount it feels kind of like kind of like not very thick it feels very thin when i just swiped it on there i'm pretty sure when i was picking the foundation color that it said that this one had olive undertones which is really really interesting because normally you don't find all of the undertone foundation very much across many many many brands of foundation and having all of skin like normally i go for neutral when when i pick foundation i really hope saying all this that that is true what i'm telling you right now like i could just be talking out my butt usually what i do is i just grab whatever's left on my sponge and bring it down my neck just to like blend everything together because my neck doesn't see a lot of sun and i use sunscreen there so it really doesn't see a lot of sun um sometimes i need to add foundation to my neck to get it to match like my shoulders and chest and face all match everything but um sometimes i can just get away with doing this and it's all right so just looking really close up in a mirror just for the last minute i think the finish is really really like your skin like it's definitely a medium coverage with one layer i could still see freckles i could still see spider veins i could still see a little bit of like my discoloration on my forehead there um which i actually prefer in a foundation because i would rather it be able to be built up than just look like a mask right off the bat so i am not against that i actually kind of like it like often this is enough for me and i don't care that a lot is still showing through like a little bit here a little bit here like that's fine i also realized i have a little tiny red pimple starting it's a tiny one but like right on the edge of my nose there i could see it because it's not being covered up so that's fun news i'm not sure about this tone match like up close i think it's okay and then i'm seeing it kind of in from far away when i move my mirror far away and i'm like does that look kind of green like i can't really tell so i'm gonna have to wait until i get like out in the sun and by the way there is no real like discernible scent on the skin even when i'm like sniffing it i'm getting just like the tiniest little bit so here's the thing i think the amount that i put on my face which was you saw like just a couple swipes um not really that like that's probably about the amount that i would need but i'm just using it now kind of like on those spots that i want a little bit more coverage so i don't need to go over my entire face with a whole other layer to get coverage i'm just putting it right on a couple spots um like it felt like it didn't really completely cover my chin and then a few areas that i think were showing through a little bit more than i would then not that i would want but i just want to see like if it's gonna be able to cover up just for the sake of this video for experimentation for you guys um one thing i will say right up in here this is kind of my dry patch like it has that little bit of discoloration which you can see is getting covered up pretty well with the second layer there um but it's also the only area of my skin that is dry i have very oily skin and that's why i do these videos um but i don't have combo skin like i don't even have a t-zone my entire face is oily like all over my cheeks and everything forehead all over the place but right here i've noticed as time has gone on in my life this little area right here is what likes to grab product so when i say that i mean it looks kind of like you can see a little bit of like scaliness that's not even the right word because that's too extreme but it's just a little bit dry and you can kind of see the foundation sitting on top of that dryness um and i can see that with this foundation all right i'm going to do the rest of my makeup and then we'll talk about kind of like how it has um dried down and of course i'm gonna put on my powder and concealer and all that and then i will get on with my day and we'll test it out so all my makeup is on now and i don't have a whole bunch more thoughts about this what i what i did realize though just kind of right now touching it is that this is like weightless i don't feel it on my face like when i touch it i don't feel like my face feels heavy like i feel like i'm wearing almost nothing um so that is lovely because you know how it feels to wear heavy foundation this just feels like air and one other thing that i didn't mention when i was putting this on with the sponge is that it was so easily spreadable and i know like maybe that at first thought you might think that that's not important but it actually is because whenever i'm putting on foundation with a sponge it always takes much longer than with brush and um and because i use a sponge all the time it's just one of those things it's kind of tedious to like sit there and like bounce the sponge all over your face but being how like thin that this foundation is it's still spread super super easily and i didn't feel like the sponge sucked up very much of the product at all like it really just dispersed very easily all over the face okay so this is how i look now and um i guess we'll do a couple check-ins i'm gonna take my camera with me today so it is not too hot of a day it's 24 degrees celsius um but in my house i have no air conditioning and we are on the second floor so it's always very hot so it's always about five degrees hotter in my house than it is outside so that's pretty hot but i am going out today so i'm gonna be wearing a mask and the whole thing about masks is like last year when i was doing foundation reviews um that was not a factor at all but we know now that that is a factor so i'm not gonna be wearing it the entire day obviously but i am gonna be on like public transportation and then i'm going to be in a mall and i don't know if i have to wear like the mask during oh i did i say i'm going to a job interview so i don't know if i have to wear the mask like during the interview or if i will take it off like i really don't know um so that will be very interesting and then i'll kind of check in i i may or may not redo my makeup for tonight because we are going out again but i've already decided that i don't want this to be just a first impression review i'm gonna wear this foundation tomorrow which is saturday and also on sunday um so that we get like a full picture and then i'll come back and after that point give you a little bit more of my thoughts but i did put this on at i think it was 9 30 a”
