After One Adjustment… This 9 Year Old Noticed Something Surprising |Part 2|

In Part 1 of Ezekiel’s story, we saw a 9 year old boy who had been suffering from severe intermittent back pain since he was a toddler. The pain would sometimes become so intense that he would be crying on the floor. During his first visit, Dr. Rahim performed a detailed Gonstead spinal evaluation and X-ray analysis, finding multiple tailbone injuries in the sacrum and misalignment with nerve pressure at C1. Dr. Rahim specifically adjusted: • S3 (sacrum) • C1 (upper cervical) When Ezekiel returned for his second visit, he reported: ✔️ Less back pain ✔️ Moving better ✔️ And surprisingly… he felt he could breathe better During the second examination, Dr. Rahim found: • S3 was now clear and holding • New nerve pressure at S2 • C1 involvement remained This visit also provides an important teaching point for Gonstead doctors and students. When adjusting the sacrum in side posture, Ezekiel kept flexing his bottom knee. When the knee bends, it tightens the hamstrings and lower back, making it difficult to obtain a clean set on the sacrum. After getting Ezekiel to keep the bottom leg straight, Dr. Rahim was able to deliver a precise S2 sacrum adjustment. After the adjustments, Dr. Rahim had Ezekiel jump off the table and back up again before re-checking with the scope to ensure the corrections were holding, especially since kids are naturally active and constantly moving.
