This has stayed with me. And it’s so sad 💙🥲 When someone is told they must “withdraw” after failing a resit, that language matters. No one chooses to leave like that. I learned today of a young man called Phil who failed a resit and was then asked to withdraw from his medicine course. He then ended his own life. 🥲💙 Sometimes there are no obvious signs because the distress is triggered by one moment – a high-stakes decision, delivered suddenly, with huge consequences for identity, future, and belonging. This isn’t about blame. It’s about asking whether our systems offer enough support before, during, and after moments like this. We need to do better. If this topic affects you, you’re not alone. Support is available. I’d love to know your thoughts…. #philmoyo #suicideprevention #studentmentalhealth
